Zanzibar, Tanzania, 2025

Carried was made on the salt flats of Zanzibar, where the landscape seems to dissolve into light. A young woman moves across the open ground, holding a piece of cloth against the wind.

The gesture is simple, almost ordinary, yet for a moment it becomes something else. The fabric conceals as much as it reveals; caught between her hands and the wind, it seems both something she carries and something that carries her.

Carried is about movement, protection and the things we take with us — visible and invisible.
